Fueling Small Business Growth

” The Community is really the backbone of my business”

Calvin Riggleman

Owner of Bigg Riggs Farms, Froppers / Gourmet Central and Flying Buck Distillery

The idea of Bigg Riggs Farm was born in the sandy desert of Iraq in 2003, when Calvin Riggleman, CEO and USMC Veteran was on his first deployment missing the fruits of the orchards, the farm and the mountains of Hampshire County. In 1930 Calvin’s family planted the first trees and farmed the first crops in the  excellent soil of Hampshire County. Five generations later, this family operation has expanded into three unique agribusiness companies; Bigg Riggs Farms, Gourmet Central Foods and  most recently the Flying Buck Distillery; all from the fruits of the orchards, the farm and the mountains of Hampshire.

“Many people had doubts when we first started our event planning business in Hampshire County; thinking we would never have enough clients to keep us in business – fortunately those people were wrong.  Every bride deserves a dream wedding no matter the budget!  We plan, decorate and coordinate weddings as well as corporate events. All events should look effortless and glamorous, and Sarah K Events is here to do just that!”

“We like having our business here because it’s a small community and we like be able to give back to the people who support us, while still having close access to eastern markets in Washington DC , Virginia and Maryland; it’s the best of both worlds”.
