Hampshire County’s Spot Light on Business

The idea of Bigg Riggs Farm was born in the sandy desert of Iraq in 2003, when Calvin Riggleman, CEO and USMC Veteran was on his first deployment missing the fruits of the orchards, the farm and the mountains of Hampshire County. In 1930 Calvin’s family planted the first trees and farmed the first crops in the  excellent soil of Hampshire County. Five generations later, this family operation has expanded into three unique agribusiness companies; Bigg Riggs Farms, Gourmet Central Foods and  most recently the Flying Buck Distillery; all from the fruits of the orchards, the farm and the mountains of Hampshire.

A Hampshire County business since 1979, SJ Morse began as an architectural millwork company- primarily as a machine-intensive woodworking facility emphasizing good design and quality workmanship. In 1990 developed the ability to internally manufacture veneer panels, transitioning in 1995 to a full service panel manufacturer of premium quality and custom architectural wood veneer panels for commercial, government and institutional companies. In 2017 the SJ Morse Company restructured as an ESOP S-Corporation continuing to expand operations and increase the economy through job creation.
